HARLINGEN — Michael Jeremy Ramirez was arrested Tuesday morning for his alleged involvement in a violent dispute that left one man bleeding from the head, police said.
Police arrested Ramirez as he was attempting to enter a home Tuesday in Harlingen.
He was transported to the Harlingen jail without incident at 10 a.m.
Tuesday morning police issued an alert Ramirez had a warrant for his arrest on an aggravated assault charge.
According to police, the 34-year-old from Pharr, is accused of hitting a man with a baseball bat on Monday night.
After the incident, Ramirez was seen fleeing the scene in a blue Lincoln Town Car.
Witnesses said the victim was in an altercation with Ramirez when he was allegedly struck in the head with a baseball bat.
Investigators from the Harlingen Police Department’s major crimes unit and organized crime unit secured a warrant for Ramirez charging him with aggravated assault.
Harlingen police responded to a call in reference to a man with a knife on Monday at approximately 6:25 p.m. on the 2800 block of Treasure Hills Boulevard.
According to a release, when officers arrived they found a male subject disoriented and bleeding from his head.
The victim was transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center and is listed in serious condition.
